Known locally as the "Red School" because of the scarlet uniforms, Woodford Green Preparatory School was founded in 1932 to provide a non- denominational Christian education for boys and girls, a tradition that has been maintained throughout our history and expansion to some 384 pupils.
Regular assemblies, attended by all, reinforce the community spirit.
Pupils are encouraged to take on responsibility. All the top year have community duties, including assisting younger children.
While we are justifiably proud of our excellent record of success in entry examinations for selective secondary schools, we believe that moral, social and cultural education carry equal weight. Every child in the school is equally important to us, wherever their talents lie.
The friendly, supportive environment, in which good work, good behaviour and helpfulness are positively reinforced, encourages all children to develop to their potential.
We believe strongly that children ought to enjoy their time at school.
